How your files and credentials are handled depends on which plan you use.

Where Your Files Go

• Lifetime license (BYOK or local AI): your files never leave your device.
• Subscription (managed AI): files are sent for processing but are not stored — they're deleted immediately after processing.

API Key Storage

API keys are stored using your operating system's own credential store — Windows Credential Manager on Windows, or Keychain on macOS — encrypted by the OS and never transmitted to FilesDesk's servers.

Offline Use

Using a Lifetime license with Ollama gives you 100% offline operation, with local AI processing and no data ever leaving your device.
